I had spoken to Tamsin ahead of the game once her retirement from club and country netball was announced and the testimonial game was held at Surrey Sports Park.
It was a long journey there and back though the atmosphere for the game was fantastic and I was able to see the facilities of SSP for the first time (even the pitches though it was dark). I'd go as far they'd make me take up sport!.
As for the game Tamsin's Blue were winners v Purples though it while it may have been a testimonial both teams put in 100% and it was a proper game.
The good thing is that everyone there was treated to a very good game, Karen Atkinson was a definate star and it was nice to see some of those that have once played for the Duck-Egg turn out again so watching the play between Gemma and Becky was still as great.
Several nice touches of the night included a hopeful decent charity donation, the whole organisation by Storm's marketing team and the fact that Storm's Pam Cookey (and over 100 caps for her country & ex-England international) bought me a drink.
Oh and watch out for George Fisher what a future star.
